Registration

1. Can I register for MySQA?

Registration for MySQA is now closed but will reopen in the Autumn.

If you didn’t activate your MySQA account on time you will NOT receive your exam results by email and text. Don't worry though, because you will receive your certificate through the post on Tuesday 5 August 2008.

If you did activate your MySQA account and sat exams at Standard Grade, Intermediate 1, Intermediate 2, Higher or Advanced Higher we will send your exam results by email and/or text between 8am and 9am on Tuesday 5 August 2008. You will also get your certificate through the post.

2. I have signed up for MySQA – can I activate my account?

No. MySQA is now closed but will reopen in the Autumn. If you didn’t activate your MySQA account on time you will NOT receive your exam results by email and text. Don't worry though, because you will receive your certificate through the post on Tuesday 5 August 2008.

3. If I am registered for MySQA will I still get a paper certificate?

Yes. If you have a MySQA account you will still receive a paper certificate. Your certificate will be sent to the address we hold for you on Tuesday 5 August 2008.

Text Messaging

1. When will I get the text message containing my exam results?

If you have activated your MySQA account, signed up to get your exam results by text message and have sat exams at Standard Grade, Intermediate 1, Intermediate 2, Higher or Advanced Higher, we will send a text message containing your exam results between 8am and 9am on Tuesday 5 August 2008.

2. Can I change my mobile phone number?

No. The last date for making any changes to your mobile phone number was 25 July 2008.

3. I haven't received a text message containing my exam results

Exam results will be sent out by text message between 8am and 9am on Tuesday 5 August 2008.  If you have not received your exam results by text message please check the following:

  • Did you sign up and activate your MySQA account?
  • Did you opt out of getting your exam results by email?
  • Have you sat exams at Standard Grade, Intermediate 1, Intermediate 2, Higher or Advanced Higher?
  • Did you give us the correct email address?
  • Is your email account set up to receive emails from MySQA?  Some email providers may put MySQA emails straight into your spam folder or bypass your inbox and spam folder completely until you change the settings on your account to say you want to receive emails from MySQA.

Email

1. When will I get the email containing my exam results?

If you have activated your MySQA account and have sat exams at Standard Grade, Intermediate 1, Intermediate 2, Higher or Advanced Higher, we will send an email containing your exam results between 8am and 9am on Tuesday 5 August 2008.

2. Can I change my email address?

3. I haven't received an email message containing my exam results.

Exam results will be sent out by email between 8am and 9am on Tuesday 5 August 2008.  If you have not received your exam results by text message please check the following:
  • Did you sign up and activate your MySQA account?
  • Did you register to get your exam results by text message?
  • Have you sat exams at Standard Grade, Intermediate 1, Intermediate 2, Higher or Advanced Higher?
  • Did you give us the correct mobile phone number?
  • If you are abroad is your phone set up to receive text messages and do you have enough credit to receive text messages abroad?

Qualifications

1. What does ‘Exam only’ mean?

To achieve a National Course at Intermediate, Higher or Advanced Higher level you must achieve the examination at grade A, B, C or D and pass all the units. ‘Exam only’ means that you have achieved the exam but not all the units needed and, therefore, not the course.

2. What does ‘F’ mean?

‘F’ means that you have not achieved the course.

3. What does ‘*’ next to a text abbreviation mean?

‘*’ next to a text abbreviation means ‘Exam only’. To achieve a National Course at Intermediate, Higher or Advanced Higher level you must achieve the examination at grade A, B, C or D and pass all the units. ‘Exam only’ means that you have achieved the exam but not all the units needed and, therefore, not the course.

4. Can I access my results online?

Not at the moment. Qualification information will be available when we launch Phase 2 of MySQA in Autumn 2008. When it is available you will be able to see courses and units that you are currently doing, results we have received for your courses and units and all SQA qualification you have been certificated for.
